What does the People Mover XL add over the standard people mover? #
One seat. Eight instead of seven. Luggage capacity is identical — four large suitcases and four carry-ons — and it carries the same two prams. If your problem is bags rather than bodies, this is not the vehicle that solves it.
That single seat is frequently the whole reason to book. It is the difference between one vehicle and a two-car convoy for a household of eight, or for two families travelling together to the same terminal at the same time.
Can eight passengers and eight suitcases travel in the XL? #
No. Four large bags is a firm ceiling on this vehicle, and unlike the standard people mover the XL publishes no seat-for-bag trade. Eight passengers each with a checked case needs the maxi van, which lists eleven seats and ten large bags. Eight passengers with four large bags between them is fine.
Carry-ons cap at four as well, so eight passengers cannot each bring a cabin bag. Count both numbers before you book — large cases first, then carry-ons. Checked cases decide the vehicle more often than seat count does, so count them first.
Should I book the XL or the standard people mover? #

The XL takes fitted rear-facing, forward-facing and booster seats, fitted before pickup, and NSW law requires an approved restraint for every child under seven. Each restraint consumes a passenger seat on top of the child's own in the booking arithmetic, so two adults with three children in restraints uses all eight seats.
That configuration is exactly what the eighth seat exists for. Note what it leaves you: eight seats fully committed and four large bags to cover five people's luggage plus whatever the children travel with. If that sounds tight, it is — the maxi van is the honest answer for a family group that size with checked luggage.
Prams, and what they cost you in boot space #
Two prams are listed for the XL and they share the boot with your suitcases rather than adding capacity. Treat a folded full-size pram as taking the place of a large case, which leaves you three of your four. The pram toggle in the booking flow tells your driver; it does not do the subtraction for you.
With the eighth seat in use, the usable load space is the upright area behind the last row rather than a long floor. Load tall rigid cases on edge first and pack soft bags around them. Two prams plus checked luggage for eight people is a maxi van booking, not an XL one.
